UBC Launches New Show: THE CHECK POINT

Uganda’s national broadcaster, UBC, has unveiled a dynamic new television program titled The Check Point—a bold initiative aimed at unpacking the legal complexities behind government policies and national developments.

Spearheaded by a vibrant team of lawyers from leading law school, the Law Development Centre and other legal circles, The Check Point is designed to decode the dense legal jargon that often surrounds public administration. The show will tackle pressing issues in politics, law, governance, and current affairs—bridging the gap between the law and the everyday Ugandan, the omuntu wa wansi.

Tune in every Tuesday from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM on UBC as the team breaks down the stories that shape our nation and offers clear, relatable insights into what they really mean for citizens.

This week’s hot topic: The UPDF Amendment Bill 2025
What changes are being proposed? What impact will they have on national security, civil liberties, and governance? And most importantly—what should Ugandans expect?

Don’t miss The Check Point—where law meets clarity.
