The Uganda Police Force has halted the nationwide consultative meetings of the National Unity Platform in thier official statement that read as follows . Today the 31st of May 2024, at about 1000hrs at St Lawrence College, Maya, along Kampala Masaka Highway, a fatal accident occurred leading to the loss of lives of three people and many others injured. The injured were taken to medical facilities yet to be identified by police. The accident involved 02 motor vehicles and 04 motor cycles which were part of a motorcade in a procession of National Unity Platform (NUP) Leaders heading to Masaka for consultative activities. The loss of the innocent lives was a result of recklessness of the drivers and riders who were driving in excess speed without regard to other road users.
